Você provavelmente já se deparou com algum daqueles programas de TV de reconstrução do look em que o consultor de moda nos apresenta uma garota com um estilo totalmente fora do comum e aproxima o visual dela o máximo possível do que é aceito pela sociedade.
Foi para mostrar que existem personalidades incomuns que encontraram seu lugar no mundo que o portal Racked lançou a série de documentários "Dress the Part" (algo como o nosso "vestir a camisa") em que mostra pessoas bem diferentes e com estilos únicos que encontraram nessa forma inesperada de se vestir sua identidade.
Entre vários videos bacanas, adorei a história de Colleen Darnell, uma egiptóloga que veste peças vintage dos anos 20 todos os dias inclusive para trabalhar e que encontrou em seu estilo o empoderamento que hoje a torna uma Indiana Jones da vida real. Outro vídeo incrível é o da pin-up Sugar Moon, ela, que nasceu no Japão, sempre rejeitou suas curvas, tanto por não ser o padrão por lá quanto por ser sinônimo de sexualidade, algo que não era bem aceito, depois de se mudar para Nova York ela abraçou o estilo pin-up e finalmente conseguiu aceitar seu corpo e ganhar confiança.

O documentário me tocou porque mostra mulheres reais inspiradoras e únicas que nos mostram que podemos ser quem a gente quiser.
Style X Identity
You've probably come across some of those TV programs for reconstructing the look in which the fashion consultant introduces us to a girl with a totally out-of-the-ordinary style and brings her look as close as possible to what is accepted by society.
It was to show that there are unusual personalities who found their place in the world that Racked launched the series of documentaries "Dress the Part" in which shows people with very different and unique styles that found their identity in this unexpected way of dressing.
Among several cool videos, I loved the story of Colleen Darnell, an Egyptologist who wears vintage pieces from the twenties every day to work and who found in her style the empowerment that makes her a real-life Indiana Jones. Another incredible video is the one about the pinup Sugar Moon, she, who was born in Japan, has always rejected her curves, both for not being the standard there and for her body to be a synonym of sexuality something that is not well accepted, after moving to New York she adopted the pinup style and finally managed to accept her body and gain confidence.

The documentary touched me because it shows real inspiring and unique women who show us we can be whoever we want.
