O que você considera bonito? A fotógrafa romena, Mihaela Noroc, acredita que a beleza não tem fronteiras, ela passou quatro anos viajando pelo mundo para fotografar mulheres comuns em seus locais de origem. Inspirada pela diversidade ela descobriu que a pressão para se enquadrar em um padrão é universal e decidiu mostrar que a beleza tem muitos rostos.

Em entrevista a revista Glamour americana Noroc explicou que o belo está em todos os lugares: "Você pode encontrá-lo na África ou na Europa, em uma aldeia ou em um arranha-céu, em um sorriso, em um gesto, num olhar intenso, em algumas rugas ou em uma história. A beleza real é muito mais do que o que costumamos ver na mídia. A beleza real está em nossas diferenças e está ao nosso redor. Nós apenas temos que abrir nossos olhos e vê-la".

Durante as viagens, Noroc fotografou mais de 2 mil mulheres e, quando possível, ouviu suas histórias. As fotos deram origem ao livro "The Atlas of Beauty: Women of the World in 500 Portraits", à venda na Amazon, e à um movimento inspirador em prol da real beleza.

The Atlas of Beauty

What do you consider beautiful? The Romanian photographer, Mihaela Noroc, believes that beauty has no borders, she spent four years traveling the world to photograph ordinary women in their places of origin. Inspired by diversity she discovered that the pressure to fit into a mold is universal and has decided to show that beauty has many faces.

In an interview to Glamour U.S. magazine Noroc explained that beauty is everywhere: "You can find it in Africa or in Europe, in a village or in a skyscraper, in a smile, in a gesture, in an intense gaze, in some wrinkles, or in a story, real beauty is much more than what we usually see in the media. Real beauty is in our differences and is all around us. We just have to open our eyes and see it. "

During her travels, Noroc photographed more than 2,000 women and, when possible, heard her stories. The photos originated the book "The Atlas of Beauty: Women of the World in 500 Portraits", on sale at Amazon, and an inspiring movement for real beauty.
