O MTV Video Music Awards ou VMA acontece na noite de hoje (27), mas já vem mexendo com a cabeça dos artistas a algum tempo, a verdade é que com a aproximação do evento é dada a largada à um celebrity riff-off de magnitude web, isso quer dizer que todos os cantores que tem material novo para apresentar decidem competir divulgando os melhores clipes de seus aguardados hits. O problema é que já existem algumas guerras declaradas como é o caso da rivalidade entre Taylor Swift e Katy Perry, por exemplo.
Na madrugada de quinta-feira (24) Katy Perry divulgou o clipe "Swish Swish", divertidíssimo o vídeo traz um jogo de basquete bem inusitado com um time de estrelas como Gaten Matarazzo, (Stranger Things), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), Terry Crews e Molly Shannon. Mas há quem diga que por traz do time de estrelas do jogo há uma referência ao clipe de “Bad Blood” da Taylor Swift, que também teve um squad de celebridades com seus respectivos “apelidos” e ai foi dada a largada à temporada de rivalidade entre as duas.
Taylor Swift então decidiu marcar seu retorno as redes sociais e começou a divulgar uma série de vídeos misteriosos de cobra e aproveitou a curiosidade de todos para na sexta-feira (25) divulgar o lyric video de “Look What You Made Me Do”, faixa de seu novo álbum Reputation.
E não demorou muito para os fãs lerem nas entrelinhas, e interpretarem o significado da nova fase da Taylor, a começar pelo nome do álbum que faz referência a reputação da cantora na mídia e que vem com força total no visual do lyric vídeo que tem uma fonte que lembra muito a utilizada em jornais. Além disso, Taylor mandou uma indireta direitíssima para o Kanye West com a nova música, afinal ela é vista como uma resposta a letra de "Famous" em que Kanye diz, entre outras coisas, que Taylor devia seu sucesso a ele.
Mas tem gente que foi ainda mais longe e que acha que no trecho que Taylor canta: “Eu não gosto das chaves do seu reino / Elas pertenciam a mim / Você me pediu um lugar para dormir / Me trancou do lado de fora e deu um banquete (o quê?)“, está se referindo a música “Bon Appetit” de Katy Perry. Como se não bastasse alguns fãs ouviram até uma referência ao filme "Meninas Malvadas" no novo som de Taylor, não entendeu? Eu explico, é que na época do lançamento de “Bad Blood”, Katy escreveu um tweet dizendo “Cuidado com a Regina George em pele de cordeiro" e tem muita gente dizendo que a batida de “Look What You Made Me Do” lembra muito o som que estava tocando durante a festa à fantasia do filme.
Se é verdade ou só uma coincidência incrível não podemos afirmar, mas é inegável o quanto essa rixa está rendendo bons frutos. Agora, nos resta aguardar pelo clipe oficial da nova música de Taylor que deve ser divulgado está noite durante o VMA, mas enquanto isso ficamos com o novo clipe de "Feels" (divulgado hoje) parceria de Katy com Pharrell Williams, Big Sean e, com o ex de Taylor, Calvin Harris, afinal não podemos deixar essa competição morrer, né, mores?

On Thursday (24), Katy Perry has released the "Swish Swish" clip, the funny video brings a very unusual basketball game with a team of stars such as Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), Terry Crews and Molly Shannon. But there are those who say that behind this team of stars there is a reference to Taylor's "Bad Blood" clip, that also had a squad of celebrities with their respective nicknames. This was the start of the revenge season between the two.
Taylor Swift then decided to mark her return to social networks and began releasing a series of mysterious snake videos and seized everyone's curiosity for Friday (25) to release the lyric video of "Look What You Made Me Do", track of her new album Reputation.
And it didn't take long for fans to read between the lines, and interpret the meaning of Taylor's new phase, starting with the name of the album that refers to the singer's reputation in the media and comes full force in the visual lyric video that has a font that resembles that used in newspapers. In addition, Taylor sent a direct indirect to Kanye West with the new song, after all it is seen as an answer to the lyrics of "Famous" in which Kanye says, among other things, that Taylor owed her success to him.
But there are people who went even further and who think that in the passage that Taylor sings: "I don't like your kingdom keys / They once belonged to me / You asked me for a place to sleep / Locked me out / And threw a feast (What?)", she is referring to the song "Bon Appetit" by Katy Perry. As if that weren't enough some fans even heard a reference to the movie "Mean Girls" in Taylor's new sound, did not understand? I explain, back to when Taylor released "Bad Blood", Katy tweeted: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing", and now fans are saying that the beat of "Look What You Made Me Do" sounds very much like the music that was playing during the costume party in the movie.
Whether it is true or just an incredible coincidence we can not say, but it is undeniable how much this feud is paying off. Now, we have to wait for the official clip of Taylor's new song to be released tonight during the VMA, but in the meantime we get the new Katy's clip "Feels" (released today) featuring Pharrell Williams, Big Sean and, Taylor's ex Calvin Harris, after all we can not let this competition die, right?
