A mistura de moda e cinema tem um potencial incrível, e se dentro do universo fashion existem muitas histórias interessantes a serem contadas, nada melhor do que apresentá-las na tela grande, com direito a um figurino impactante e uma boa dose de drama.
Essa é a ideia do novo filme escrito e dirigido por Paul Thomas Anderson ("O Mestre" e "Vício Inerente"), Phantom Thread (traduzido no Brasil como "Trama Fantasma"), que teve seu trailer divulgado recentemente.
O filme tem como cenário a Londres dos anos 50 e o universo da alta-costura de grande influência na época.
Com potencial para ser indicado ao Oscar, Phantom Thread conta a história de Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis), um renomado e confiante estilista que trabalha ao lado da irmã, Cyril (Lesley Manville), para vestir grandes nomes da realeza e da elite britânica. Sua inspiração surge através das mulheres que, constantemente, entram e saem de sua vida. Mas tudo muda quando ele conhece a forte e inteligente Alma (Vicky Krieps), que vira sua musa e amante.
O protagonista é inspirado no célebre Charles James, que apesar do pouco reconhecimento que recebeu em sua terra natal, o Reino Unido, ganhou destaque como o primeiro grande couturier americano. Além de ter vestido estrelas do cinema como Marlene Dietrich, o visual criado por James foi uma grande influência para o New Look de Christian Dior.
O filme conta ainda com nomes como Jane Perry e Camilla Rutherford no elenco e tem trilha sonora assinada por Jonny Greenwood, guitarrista do Radiohead.
Trama Fantasma deve estrear no Brasil em fevereiro. O filme marca a despedida do ator britânico Daniel Day-Lewis das telas. “Ele não vai mais trabalhar como ator e é imensamente grato a todos os seus colaboradores e público ao longo desses muitos anos”, declarou sua representante, Leslee Dart, à Variety.
Phantom Thread

This is the idea behind the new film written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson ("The Master"), Phantom Thread, which had its trailer released recently.
The film is set in London in the 1950s and focuses on the haute couture universe of great influence at the time.
With potential for Oscar nominations, Phantom Thread tells the story of Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis), a renowned and confident dressmaker whose fastidious life is disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who becomes his muse and lover.
The protagonist is inspired by the celebrated Charles James, who despite the little recognition he received in his homeland, the UK, gained prominence as the first great American couturier. In addition to dressing movie stars like Marlene Dietrich, the look created by James was a big influence on Christian Dior's New Look.
The film also includes names like Lesley Manville, Jane Perry and Camilla Rutherford in the cast and a soundtrack signed by Jonny Greenwood, guitarist of Radiohead.
Phantom Thread is due to debut in Brazil in February. The film marks the farewell of the British actor Daniel Day-Lewis of the screens.
