Em uma semana em que regredimos tanto em quesitos como liberdade de expressão e escolha sexual, a Opening Ceremony, marca nova-iorquina cheia de opinião e personalidade, deu exemplo de atitude inclusiva.
Durante a última edição da NYFW, a marca decidiu lançar sua coleção de uma forma totalmente nova. Sob o comando de Spike Jonze, diretor de "Onde Vivem os Monstros" e "Ela", a OP levou suas peças das passarelas para os palcos numa performance ao vivo intitulada "Changers: A Dance Story".
Coreografada por Ryan Heffington e tendo como tema central o amor, a narrativa foi contada somente através de movimentos de dança e mostrou os desafios encontrados por um homem (Lakeith Stanfield) e uma mulher (Mia Wasikowska) em um relacionamento.
Essa nova forma de apresentar a coleção chamou tanto a atenção que acabou indo parar no "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", transformada em curta ela foi levada ao programa e filmada ao vivo. Além da forma inovadora de divulgar seu trabalho, a Opening Ceremony convidou casais para estrelar a campanha de divulgação fotografada por Brigitte Lacombe conseguindo assim um resultado sincero e realista que mostra o quanto há beleza em aceitar as diferenças:
Celebrating Love
Opening Ceremony, a New York brand full of opinion and personality, gave an example of an inclusive attitude. During the last edition of NYFW, the brand decided to launch its collection in a whole new way. Under the direction of Spike Jonze, director of "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Her", OP took its catwalk pieces to the stage in a live performance entitled "Changers: A Dance Story".
Choreographed by Ryan Heffington and centered on love, the narrative was told only through dance moves and showed the challenges encountered by a man (Lakeith Stanfield) and a woman (Mia Wasikowska) in a relationship.
This new way of presenting the collection drew so much attention that it ended up on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", transformed into a short film it was taken to the program and filmed live. Below, you check the result in two videos, one of which shows how Jonze filmed the performance:
In addition to the innovative way of publicizing its work, Opening Ceremony invited couples to star in the publicity campaign photographed by Brigitte Lacombe, achieving a sincere and realistic result that shows how beautiful it is to accept the differences:
